Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar adalah kurikulum pendidikan yang dicanangkan Mendikbudristek Nadiem Makarim. Merupakan bentuk evaluasi dari Kurikulum 2013 yang selama ini digunakan.
Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar hanya akan ditujukan bagi satuan pendidikan yang sudah siap. Jadi, bagi sekolah/universitas yang belum siap, masih bisa menggunakan Kurikulum 2013.

Apa Itu Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar?
Merdeka Belajar adalah kurikulum dengan pembelajaran intrakurikuler yang beragam. Peserta didik dapat memilih pelajaran apa saja yang ingin ditekuni. Sesuai dengan bakat dan minat masing-masing.
Para guru leluasa untuk memilih berbagai perangkat ajar sesuai minat dan bakat murid. Dengan demikian, proses belajar mengajar akan lebih optimal. Murid akan memiliki cukup waktu untuk mendalami konsep untuk mempertegas kompetensi diri.
Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar juga akan didukung oleh platform “Merdeka Mengajar”. Menjadi wujud nyata upaya transformasi pendidikan berbasis digital di Indonesia. Demi mempermudah guru dalam mengajar, belajar, dan berkarya.
Karakteristik utama dari Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar untuk mendukung pemulihan pembelajaran yaitu:
- Pembelajaran berbasis projek untuk pengembangan soft skills dan karakter sesuai profil pelajar Pancasila.
- Fokus pada materi esensial sehingga ada waktu cukup untuk pembelajaran. Mendalam bagi kompetensi dasar seperti literasi dan numerasi.
- Fleksibilitas bagi guru untuk melakukan pembelajaran yang terdiferensiasi. Sesuai dengan kemampuan peserta didik dan melakukan penyesuaian dengan konteks dan muatan lokal.
Perbedaan Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar dengan Kurikulum Sebelumnya
1. Mata Pelajaran
Pada Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar, tidak ada lagi mata pelajaran IPA maupun IPS. Keduanya dilebur menjadi satu, yaitu Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial. Peserta didik juga bisa memilih sekurang-kurangnya satu dari empat Seni dan Budaya. Diantaranya, Seni Musik, Seni Rupa, Seni Teater, atau Seni Tari.
2. Pembelajaran
Model pembelajaran Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar akan dibuat lebih sederhana dan mendalam. Dengan Paduan pembelajaran dengan Komposisi:
- Intrakurikuler (70-80% dari jam pelajaran)
- kokurikuler melalui projek penguatan profil pelajar Pancasila (20-30% jam pelajaran).
3. Jam pelajaran
Jam pelajaran pada Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar akan diatur per tahun. Satuan pendidikan dapat mengatur alokasi waktu pembelajaran secara fleksibel. Demi mencapai jam pembelajaran yang telah ditetapkan.
