Kematian tragis Rina Arano, telah jadi headline selama beberapa hari terakhir. Siapakah pembunuh gadis berusia 23 tahun tersebut?
Kepolisian Tokyo telah menangkap Hiroyuki Sanpei atas kasus ini. Sanpei merupakan seorang karyawan perusahaan asal Minamiashigara, Prefektur Kanagawa. Ia dituduh telah mengurung Arano di rumah liburan keluarganya di Hitachiota, selama empat hari.
Sanpei diduga membuang jasad Arano ke hutan terdekat. Arano terakhir kali terlihat pada Minggu pagi, 5 Juni 2022. Korban mengabari orangtuanya bahwa ia akan bertemu seorang teman. Pada 8 Juni 2022, orangtuanya mengajukan laporan orang hilang.
Mayat Arano ditemukan pada Sabtu pagi, 11 Juni 2022. Menurut pihak kepolisian, Sanpei yang ditangkap pada 14 Juni 2022 mengaku bertemu Arano di situs jejaring sosial. Keduanya sepakat bertemu di Stasiun JR Mito di Prefektur Ibaraki pada 5 Juni 2022.
Rekaman CCTV stasiun menunjukkan bahwa Sanpei dan Arano masuk ke dalam sebuah mobil dan melaju ke arah vila pria 33 tahun tersebut. Sanpei mengakui membawa Arano ke rumah liburannya, tapi membantah mengurungnya selama berhari-hari.
Pihak berwajib menyebutkan tidak ada tanda-tanda memar pada tubuh Arano. Otopsi pun akan dilakukan untuk menentukan penyebab kematian. Jasad Arano, ditemukan dalam keadaan telanjang dan diikat ke pohon di hutan terpencil.
Rina Arano diikat ke pohon tanpa pakaian dan telah meninggal dunia selama hampir dua minggu. Hasil otopsi membuktikan Arano tewas akibat patah tulang hyoid, yang terletak di bawah lidah dan rahang. Ada kemungkinan Arano dicekik sampai mati, menurut para penyelidik.
Penyidik juga menemukan drive recorder di mobil Hiroyuki Sanpei. Terekam foto dirinya mengemudi di sepanjang jalan hutan di dekat lokasi ditemukannya mayat Arano. Kendati demikian, Sampei belum didakwa karena penyidik masih belum menyelesaikan penyidikan.
